Technical Program Manager II

Microsoft•Redmond, WA

About The Position

The Cyber Defense Investigations – Escalations (CDI-ESC) team is Microsoft’s deep-dive investigative arm within Cyber Defense Operations (CDO), leading complex, high-severity, and nation-state security incidents across Microsoft’s first-party cloud estate. The Technical Program Manager helps drive programs, processes, and operational mechanisms that enable CDI-ESC to respond effectively at scale. They work with security investigators, engineering teams, and CDO partners to coordinate priorities, track complex workstreams, improve operational processes, and move security initiatives from planning through execution. The role calls for developing a strong understanding of security operations, asking effective questions, bringing structure to ambiguous problems, and keeping technical teams aligned and focused. The Technical Program Manager translates technical and operational inputs into clear plans, actions, risks, dependencies, and measurable outcomes. The position offers an opportunity to develop technical program management skills while working with teams responding to challenging cybersecurity incidents.
