Technical Product Manager

About The Position

Safe Software is looking for a Technical Product Manager to join our Product Management team, working across the FME Platform within our Enterprise Automation and Platform Enablement portfolios. This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute to discovery, shaping, and delivery across roadmap areas that directly affect how enterprise customers deploy, run, and manage FME. Over time, you'll grow into full ownership of a roadmap within one of these portfolios, taking responsibility for its direction, prioritization, and outcomes. Working cross-functionally with engineering, design, and fellow product managers, you'll help ensure the FME Platform is reliable, scalable, and enterprise-ready. About The Team As part of the Product Management team, you'll join a dynamic and cross-functional group of product professionals who guide the evolution of the FME Platform. The team is responsible for driving product direction, aligning with Safe Software's strategic goals, and delivering customer value while maintaining our competitive edge in the market. Product Management at Safe is organized around market- and customer-aligned portfolios and roadmaps—not internal engineering team boundaries. Each portfolio groups related roadmaps under a shared theme, and each roadmap has a PM owner responsible for outcomes across the full product lifecycle. You'll be joining a team that values collaboration, clear ownership, and evidence-based decision-making.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience, of which 3 are in a related Product Management role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical fluency—you can engage in conversations about systems architecture, deployment pipelines, APIs, and platform infrastructure without getting lost.
  • Experience working on products tailored to technical audiences such as operators, admins, and developers rather than casual users.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to drive clarity through evidence gathering, customer conversations, and structured problem framing.
  • Strong written communication with the ability to produce clear PRDs, concept documents, and decision artifacts that move work forward.
  • Collaborative by default—you work well across engineering, design, and other product managers, especially in shared-ownership environments.

Nice To Haves

  • In-depth knowledge of Safe Software's technology stack, customer base, and strategic goals.
  • Experience with how organizations adopt, operate, and scale enterprise software—including concerns like deployment, administration, observability, or extensibility.
  • Experience with workflow automation, job execution, or integration platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Explore problems worth solving—framing opportunities, gathering customer evidence, and producing concept documents that validate whether an idea is worth pursuing further.
  • Lead discovery alongside Design and Engineering through customer interviews, competitive analysis, early feasibility checks, and lightweight experimentation to reduce uncertainty before committing resources.
  • Shape validated ideas into well-defined work ready for delivery—owning PRDs, defining success metrics, supporting design validation, and collaboratively stack-ranking priorities with engineering leads.
  • Support delivery by clarifying requirements as questions arise, incorporating beta testing and early adopter feedback, and ensuring shipped work aligns with the original problem framing.
  • Contribute to roadmap areas within the Enterprise Automation and Platform Enablement portfolios, working across the FME Platform rather than a single product.
  • Grow into ownership of a defined roadmap area, taking responsibility for its direction, prioritization, and outcomes over time.
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience teams to prepare release communications and shape go-to-market messaging.
