About The Position

The Technical Product Manager (TPM) partners with Marketing Product Management and cross-functional stakeholders to translate customer and stakeholder needs into clear, testable system and sub-system requirements across hardware, firmware/software, connectivity, and cloud components. The TPM drives technical clarity and alignment from requirements through delivery for a defined product and/or system scope. This role focuses on one primary product and owns intake and prioritization for that product's R&D Engineering pipeline, ensuring work is triaged, clarified, sequenced, and delivered predictably using objective criteria and transparent backlog practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10 years of experience in systems engineering, technical product management, V&V, software/hardware engineering, or technical program leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience translating user needs into system and sub-system requirements and collaborating with engineering teams to deliver verified outcomes.
  • Strong systems thinking across hardware, firmware, software, and cloud, including the ability to translate needs into engineered requirements and interface definitions.
  • Requirements engineering discipline, including decomposition, acceptance criteria, traceability, and change impact analysis.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to lead through influence across Engineering, Marketing, Quality/Regulatory, and IT.
  • Operational excellence in intake and backlog governance using Jira, with predictable pipeline practices.
  • Proficiency with Jira for backlog management and PLM for managing requirements and traceability artifacts.

Responsibilities

  • Co-own product definition with Marketing Product Management, including product requirements, user needs, use cases, and target outcomes, ensuring feasibility and testability.
  • Translate product requirements and user needs into system and sub-system requirements and technical acceptance criteria, driving shared understanding across engineering domains.
  • Author and maintain unambiguous, feasible, verifiable, and traceable system and sub-system requirements with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Decompose requirements across mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, connectivity, and cloud domains; make constraints and assumptions explicit.
  • Own requirements change control for the assigned product, including impact analysis, review and approval facilitation, and controlled lifecycle updates.
  • Maintain bidirectional traceability from user needs through system requirements and design outputs to verification evidence, including trace links, trace matrices, and rationale.
  • Partner with Verification & Validation to align verification plans and protocols with requirement intent and acceptance criteria, and resolve ambiguity and gaps early.
  • Manage requirements and traceability artifacts through PLM to support lifecycle governance, controlled changes, and auditable history.
  • Lead technical tradeoff discussions on architecture, scalability, performance, reliability, security, and serviceability for the assigned product; document decisions and rationale.
  • Identify risks and dependencies, drive mitigation plans, and escalate decisions in a timely manner.
  • Own intake and prioritization for the primary product's R&D Engineering pipeline, ensuring work is triaged, clarified, sequenced, and delivered predictably using objective criteria and transparent backlog practices.
  • Use Jira to manage and govern the product backlog.
