Technical Product Manager

ZAVTEK IncPortland, OR
$100,000 - $120,000Hybrid

About The Position

The Technical Product Manager (TPM) owns the full product lifecycle of ZAVTEK's RTPM platform. This is a hybrid role sitting at the intersection of sales, technology, operations, and customer success. The TPM translates field intelligence from technicians, account managers, and managed service customers into a prioritized product roadmap — then works directly with engineering and data partners to execute it. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with sales or customer success, industrial monitoring platforms, a clear understanding of managed services business models, and a working knowledge of critical power equipment including UPS systems, battery strings, PDUs, and static transfer switches.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full product lifecycle from concept through launch and iteration.
  • Experience with or exposure to managed services environments — understanding of how MSPs deliver, bill, and support recurring service contracts.
  • Knowledge of critical power infrastructure: UPS systems (single- and three-phase), battery monitoring, PDUs, or STS units preferred.
  • Strong technical writing skills — able to produce clear PRDs, user stories, and specifications independently.
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Background in or exposure to facilities, datacenter, or critical infrastructure industries.
  • PMP, CSPO, or equivalent product/project management certification.
  • Experience supporting sales teams in SaaS or managed services product demonstrations.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the RTPM product roadmap, balancing near-term customer needs with long-term platform scalability.
  • Establish product vision, success metrics (KPIs), and release milestones in collaboration with leadership.
  • Interview customers and partners to fully define the product vision and requirements.
  • Conduct competitive analysis of monitoring and managed services platforms; identify differentiation opportunities for ZAVTEK.
  • Translate field feedback from technicians, account managers, and customers into structured product requirements.
  • Author detailed product requirement documents (PRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
  • Drive the client experience — defining data visualizations, alert logic, trend views, and report templates.
  • Oversee QA and user acceptance testing processes; validate that released features meet field requirements.
  • Serve as the internal and external product authority — the primary liaison between engineering, field operations, sales, and account management.
  • Partner with account managers to support customer onboarding, platform demonstrations, and ongoing service reviews.
  • Gather voice-of-customer (VOC) data through site visits, customer interviews, and service ticket analysis.
  • Develop internal and customer-facing product documentation, training materials, and release notes.
  • Ensure the RTPM platform supports and enhances ZAVTEK's managed services delivery model — including condition-based PM dispatch, remote triage, and automated reporting.
  • Define and refine SLA frameworks and alert escalation logic within the platform.
  • Work with the operations team to establish fulfillment workflows triggered by platform-generated events.
