The Operations & Business Principal Directorate at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has an opening for a Technical Operations Manager. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the Project Management Office (PMO) technical delivery organizations, including Estimating, Design and Engineering, and Construction Management. These organizations are crucial for planning and delivering LLNL's portfolio of over 200 construction projects, with an estimated Total Project Cost (TPC) exceeding $800 million. The Technical Operations Manager will ensure functional capabilities, workforce capacity, and technical resources align with current and future project delivery needs. This involves partnering with program, facility, and PMO leadership to forecast portfolio demand, resolve cross-functional issues, enhance project delivery, and support the Laboratory's infrastructure improvement goals. Additionally, the role will lead the ongoing development and integration of technical operations within the PMO's project delivery and governance framework. The Project Management Office (PMO) itself offers integrated project management, estimating, engineering and design, project controls, construction management, and portfolio management services to support LLNL's infrastructure mission, ensuring safe, reliable, and collaborative project delivery for cutting-edge research and national security initiatives. This position requires full-time on-site presence.
