Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in primary and secondary packaging of semi-solid products.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in an international and matrix environment.
  • Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in sterile product packaging is an asset.
  • Experience in the cosmetic industry or within a pharmaceutical company is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact between Galderma and external suppliers for all technical aspects related to product packaging and manufacturing processes.
  • Serve as the technical interface with external suppliers (CDMOs) and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead packaging validation and verification activities in collaboration with external partners.
  • Support root cause investigations related to deviations in product packaging and filling processes.
  • Drive changes and improvements in processes and packaging to optimize costs, security of supply, and/or product quality.
  • Lead or act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for packaging technical transfer activities for assigned products.
  • Conduct problem-solving activities, Lean initiatives, and workshops at suppliers to improve filling processes and yields.
  • Ensure packaging data from the External Supply Organization (ESO) is maintained accurately in appropriate systems and databases.
  • Guarantee the update of Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the capabilities and robustness of assigned CDMOs as an expert in packaging capabilities, capacity, and performance issues.
  • Ensure smooth flow of knowledge and information between functions and different relevant sites.
  • Develop new product packaging with suppliers in accordance with Galderma standards.
  • Collaborate with CDMOs to improve and optimize existing packaging.
  • Ensure technical excellence during the commissioning of new manufacturing or packaging equipment when used for Galderma products.
  • Ensure and support the transfer of activities from R&D to Operations teams, particularly concerning technical documentation, development reports, and scale-up reports (pilot and industrial).
  • Ensure all operational needs are adequately covered during the transfer.
  • Act as a product expert and be responsible for assigned semi-solid products.
  • Review and approve manufacturing specifications and other technical documents ( Bills of Materials/BOMs, protocols, reports, etc.).
  • Provide technical support to Development teams and other MS&T departments for assigned products to contribute to the achievement of overall company objectives.
  • Be responsible for technical activities related to Product Lifecycle Management (LCM), including process modifications, raw material (RM) changes, and packaging material (PM) modifications.
  • Support Quality and Regulatory Affairs teams during audits, regulatory submissions, document reviews, investigations, and deviation management.
  • Collaborate closely and effectively with cross-functional departments: R&D, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Purchasing, and manufacturing sites.
