About The Position

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the project management and business services fields as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratory. Pay, benefits, Human Resource, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS. Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and minimum of 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using electronic document/information management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and document quality.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple time-constrained projects and to successfully complete.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple levels of management or technical personnel.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality when working with documents that may contain sensitive or protected information.
  • Proficiency in standard office and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint, or similar platforms).

Nice To Haves

  • DOE Q clearance current or recent
  • 10 years of experience digitizing technical and government documents
  • Proven understanding of and experience with Classified Matter Protection and Control (CMPC)
  • Experience managing and/or mentoring other team members

Responsibilities

  • Manages library containing technical materials for industrial, commercial, or governmental organizations.
  • Selects, orders, organizes, disseminates, and controls special collections of technical books, periodicals, manufacturers' catalogs and specifications, slides, film strips, motion pictures, microforms, journal reprints, and other reference materials.
  • Searches literature, compiles accession lists, and annotates or abstracts materials.
  • Keeps current with new technologies which increase the accessibility of information.
  • Directs or performs the tasks of classification, indexing, cataloging, shelving, and circulation of technical materials.
  • Digitizes in a variety of forms for conversion into data that can be used by advanced information technology tools for enhanced security and research.
  • Performs work under minimal supervision.
  • Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
