Technical Lead, Facilities Software Automation

FluidstackAustin, TX
$269,000 - $317,000

About The Position

Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI, focusing on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else. This involves rethinking every layer of the stack, from acquiring power to operating data centers. The company is looking for individuals who care deeply about this problem space and are driven by extreme ownership, velocity, first principles, and a passion for the AI frontier. This role will lead facilities software automation, focusing on systems that enable software to observe, decide, and act on physical plant. The position requires owning the architecture from telemetry to actuation, with safety and authorization designed in, setting engineering standards for a team shipping against live infrastructure, and tackling complex problems like closed-loop control paths, simulation, and fleet-wide rollout strategies.

Requirements

  • Led teams building software that controls or automates physical systems.
  • Designed act-on-plant paths with interlocks, authorization, and audit.
  • Taken automation from one site to many with a real rollout model.
  • Architecture decisions balance speed with the blast radius of being wrong.
  • Still write the critical code.

Nice To Haves

  • Controls background (PLC, BMS).
  • Digital twin and simulation.
  • Energy systems.
  • Safety-critical software practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead facilities software automation: the systems that let software observe, decide, and act on physical plant.
  • Own the architecture from telemetry through decision to actuation, with safety and authorization designed in.
  • Set the engineering standards for a team shipping against live infrastructure.
  • Carry the hardest problems: closed-loop control paths, simulation, and rollout strategy across the fleet.

Benefits

  • We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
