Facilities Production Technical Lead

FluidstackSan Francsisco, CA
$188,000 - $266,000

About The Position

Fluidstack is seeking a Facilities Production Technical Lead to own the technical direction for facilities production engineering, focusing on the software and data layer over the physical plant. This role involves architecting the telemetry pipeline from Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) into the tooling used by operators and engineers. The Technical Lead will set technical standards for controls integrations to ensure data consistency across all sites and lead complex debugging efforts when discrepancies arise between the plant and software. The team operates at a massive scale, managing power consumption comparable to some countries, and sites come online in pieces, requiring continuous operation and flawless performance during ongoing construction. This is an opportunity to write the playbook for a new era of data center operations, as no prior organization has operated at this speed and scale.

Requirements

  • Senior technical voice on facilities or industrial software systems.
  • Integrated OT systems (BMS, EPMS, SCADA) with modern data stacks.
  • Debug across the OT/IT boundary without losing patience or precision.
  • Architecture decisions have survived scale and can name the tradeoffs.

Nice To Haves

  • Data center controls.
  • Time-series platforms.
  • OPC-UA, BACnet, Modbus.
  • Control system security.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical direction for facilities production engineering: the software and data layer over the physical plant.
  • Architect the telemetry pipeline from BMS and EPMS into the tooling operators and engineers run on.
  • Set technical standards for controls integrations so every site speaks the same data language.
  • Lead the hardest debugging: when the plant and the software disagree, find the truth.

Benefits

  • Pay equity and transparency.
