About The Position

This role contributes to the overall success of the AML Payment Scanning Technology in Canada and globally, ensuring that individual goals and initiatives are executed in support of team business strategies and objectives. All activities must comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The Technical Lead is responsible for managing project team plans and interfacing with project and business managers. The main function is to oversee the application of project management methodology throughout all project phases, including project design, scope management, cost control, quality, and performance. The incumbent will also participate in testing new systems or enhancements, train users, and provide ongoing support to supported units worldwide.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Application development technologies
  • 5+ years of technical leadership and mentorship
  • Experience and/or knowledge of AML and KYC domain
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Payment Scanning development responsibility across multiple AML Projects
  • Solution and design of enterprise solutions
  • AML Regulatory requirements
  • Has experience in Testing/System Integration/Reports and Web application development experience
  • Develop, track and manage project plans, timelines and scope
  • Manage project resources
  • Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs
  • Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing
  • Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities
  • Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization
  • Must possess very good interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with end users and members of a project team. The incumbent is expected to use diplomacy, judgement, and persuasion to secure agreement and co-operation from departments involved in a project.
  • Good organizational and time management skills to ensure project deadlines are met
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required

Responsibilities

  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies.
  • Works with the AML Application Team to design end-to-end solutions.
  • Gathers requirements from business units and translates them into technical specifications.
  • Participates in code reviews and continuously improves the process of translating business requirements into mapping and technical requirements.
  • Defines and enforces data governance, data quality, and data standards.
  • Participates in sprints/projects as a development lead and coaches the development team in technical matters.
  • Partners closely with other members of functional teams to define business requirements.
  • Leads teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
  • Defines test plans and ensures that products are defect-free before User Acceptance Testing.
  • Facilitates the Integrated System Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures.
  • Ensures appropriate systems development and project management processes are utilized.
  • Supports one or more highly complex business processes.
  • Works on multiple projects as a project team member.
  • Serves as a liaison between the architecture community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs.
  • Demonstrates informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
