Technical Intelligence Engineer

MbSolutions Inc•Huntsville, AL

About The Position

TEAMS Next is seeking a Technical Intelligence Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), working with agency developmental and test program personnel and the Intelligence Community (IC). The engineer will coordinate across the agency and IC to analyze and obtain ballistic missile engineering data for threat development, testing, and modeling and simulations. The Intelligence Division serves as the conduit between the IC and MDA for intelligence-based technical information and coordinates MDA requirements with responsible IC entities, including NASIC, MSIC, ONI, and NGIC. It provides technical support for MDS threat development, testing, and modeling and simulations requirements, along with intelligence data engineering expertise and engineering and scientific support for complex developmental and operational MDA programs. These tasks typically require engineering data addressing foreign threat systems and integration into the MDA Threat Characterization Process. The role provides engineering and scientific support for complex weapon system programs, works independently or with teams to solve engineering and scientific problems, and implements systems engineering “V” processes across a program’s acquisition life cycle.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • BA/BS in a STEM field.
  • 6–10 years of experience relevant to intelligence data engineering.
  • Familiarity with tools and methods for building threat models.
  • Knowledge of Kinematic, IR Plume, and/or IR Hardbody Signature Modeling.
  • Experience using, building, or managing databases.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of MDA modeling processes and/or JTMP modeling processes.
  • Experience with large data/cloud environments and database administration.
  • Experience with the Intelligence Community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide liaison to the MDA IC, Missile Defense Data Center, and external agencies to produce and obtain technical data, briefings, reports, and assessments.
  • Translate MDA testing requirements into IC Production Requests (PRs) and define requirements for intended uses, ensuring IC-provided threat system information supports threat model development for MDA tests and a wide range of end users.
  • Interface with MDA organizations, the Ballistic Missile Defense System Operational Test Agency (OTA) Team, and Intelligence Production Centers (IPCs), including NASIC, MSIC, ONI, and NGIC, to create MDA PRs defining information needed for MDA testing activities.
  • Support Joint Threat Modeling Program (JTMP) initiatives by developing improved, efficient, and consistent processes and technical solutions to obtain IPC-validated threat models for MDA events and exercises.
  • Support JTMP meeting planning, execution, and management, including agenda development, after-action reports, action items, IPC-specific JTMP Line of Effort status tracking, and distribution of documentation and data.
  • Manage SharePoint content on NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS networks, including permissions, notifications, site management, application pages, default preferences, user functionality, information organization, action tracking, document uploads, and user notifications.
  • Support technical interchange meetings with IC members, the MDS Operational Test Agency Team, and MDA personnel.
  • Facilitate, participate in, and report on meetings, conferences, symposia, and MDA and inter-agency working groups.
  • Execute extensive engineering and scientific support on systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices, and processes for complex developmental and operational weapon system programs.
  • Work independently, as a team member, or as a team/task lead to solve engineering and scientific problems.
  • Implement systems engineering “V” processes across a program’s acquisition life cycle.
