The engineer coordinates across the agency and IC to analyze and obtain ballistic missile engineering data for threat development, testing, and modeling and simulations. The Intelligence Division serves as the conduit between the IC and MDA for intelligence-based technical information and coordinates MDA requirements with responsible IC entities, including NASIC, MSIC, ONI, and NGIC. It provides technical support for MDS threat development, testing, and modeling and simulations, as well as intelligence data engineering expertise and engineering and scientific support for complex developmental and operational MDA programs. The work typically involves engineering data related to foreign threat systems and integration into the MDA Threat Characterization Process. The role includes liaising with MDA and IC organizations, translating testing needs into IC Production Requests, supporting the Joint Threat Modeling Program (JTMP), managing SharePoint content across NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS networks, and facilitating technical interchange meetings and other inter-agency events. The position also applies systems engineering processes across a program’s acquisition life cycle.
