About The Position

The Technical Counter Sales Representative is responsible for a wide variety of in-store administrative tasks to support the company's sales and operating objectives.

Requirements

• Technical or mechanical training and/or recognized experience in hydraulics or pneumatics.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent phone etiquette and strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in-store in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist customers in defining their product needs.
• Assemble hydraulic and pneumatic hoses using the tools, equipment and training provided.
• Prepare, pack, and ship orders and transfers.
• Maintain stock levels and in-store product displays.
• Ensure the cleanliness, attractiveness and safety of the store.
• Actively participate in refresher training offered by the company and suppliers.
• Provide complete and accurate information to other support departments, such as Purchasing, Credit and Technical Services.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.
• Respect the safety instructions regarding access to the warehouse and the use of machinery.
• Receive, process and report any discrepancies in incoming orders (purchase orders, transfers) ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the data.
• Follow up on transfers in transit and report any discrepancies.
• Packing goods so that they arrive intact at the customer or supplier.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records in the inventory management system.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies are always available.
• Assist in the organization and maintenance of the warehouse, including shelving, labeling and cleaning.
• Participate in periodic inventory audits and cycle counts.
