About The Position

GCG Automation & Factory Solutions (AFS) is seeking a Technical Inside Sales Representative to join our team in our Brampton, ON branch office. In this role, you’ll serve as a key technical resource to both internal and external partners—collaborating with our sales team, suppliers, and customers to identify opportunities, specify products, and provide automation solutions tailored to customer needs. You’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening relationships, expanding our market presence, and ensuring customers have the right products, technologies, and support to achieve their operational goals. This position is ideal for a technically minded sales / customer service professional who enjoys problem-solving and is passionate about helping customers succeed in an evolving industrial automation landscape.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' of demonstrated experience in wire & cable, cable assemblies, and electrical automation products or robotics at a manufacturer or distributor
  • Knowledge of sales principles with a focus on solution selling
  • High degree of professionalism, dependability, self-direction, and time management
  • High proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Experience using ERP systems (preferably Epicor P21) and Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information and describe products and services
  • Ability to organize and balance multiple priorities
  • Positive attitude with a focus on teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual proficiency in French a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide an outstanding customer experience by obtaining application details, specifying solutions, building BOMs, and developing quotes in a timely manner
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing trade publications, and participating in product training at GCG locations as well as manufacturers’ locations
  • Collaborate with our commercial team, suppliers, and operations, using the ERP system for quote, order and special pricing management
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP and CRM systems
  • Assist with follow-ups on inbound leads from suppliers, websites, and campaigns
  • Perform other duties as assigned
