About The Position

The Technical Execution Manager – Hydro Turbine is responsible for leading the technical execution of hydro turbine projects from contract handover through installation and commissioning support. Working closely with engineering, project management, site teams, customers, and external partners, this role ensures alignment of technical requirements, interfaces, and deliverables to support overall project success. This role is well suited for an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys taking ownership of complex projects, managing multiple stakeholders, and contributing to major energy projects for leading customers in the sector. In the hydroelectric industry, a typical project lasts approximately three years and involves a design team of 15 to 20 engineers and drafters during the design phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering, project execution, or technical management.
  • Experience managing interfaces with customers and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project coordination, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and French.
  • Membership in the OIQ.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary, matrixed environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hydroelectric power, heavy industry, rotating machinery, or turbine design.
  • Experience in engineering project management or project execution environments.
  • Project management certification or equivalent experience.
  • Proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and ability to influence in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical execution of turbine projects, ensuring alignment between engineering, project management, site teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Review contract requirements, technical interfaces, and scope assumptions with customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Drive technical follow-up meetings, support decision-making, and track actions and open issues through closure.
  • Monitor engineering deliverables and technical priorities against quality, schedule, cost, and risk objectives.
  • Support installation and commissioning activities by coordinating technical responses to site and customer issues.
  • Manage technical documentation, design packages, and external communications related to turbine scope.
