About The Position

This position is for a Technical Engineer to support the Veteran community in the San Francisco, California area. The role involves providing comprehensive engineering planning, design, and project management support for complex construction and maintenance projects. The engineer will develop technical solutions, oversee design and construction, ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate with stakeholders, and maintain safety, environmental, and data security standards. The primary duties include performing Engineering Subject Matter Expert Consultations in various engineering disciplines and conducting Fire Protection Design Reviews as per VA Directive 7712. Travel to sites may be required to address specific requirements.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Architecture.
  • 5+ years of Technical Engineer experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Knowledge of healthcare design and understanding of fire codes, building codes, barrier-free codes, systems, components, cleaning and maintenance concepts, ergonomics, and safety criteria.
  • Must complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus.
  • Having key personnel with the required skillsets as well as other disciplines pertinent to NRM project delivery indicated in the proposal will be considered in source selection.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Engineering Subject Matter Expert Consultation.
  • Provides technical support in skilled engineering disciplines including Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Physical Security Specialist.
  • Conducts Third Party Independent Fire Protection Reviews - Design Reviews as per criteria indicated in VA Directive 7712.
  • Travels to sites to address specific requirements that are not reasonably addressed at a distance.
