About The Position

The position is responsible for performing various engineering functions, including design, construction oversight, equipment installation, and system configuration. The Technical Engineer will establish a sound and balanced capital plan for the plant on a yearly basis with the support of process engineers and leadership by function – maintenance, safety, quality, R&D. They will establish, execute, and realize savings from the Automation and Productivity Masterplan. This role will execute medium to large investment projects from feasibility to startup phase, and support and coach process engineers on project design, planning, and execution. The Technical Engineer will maintain frequent communication of project status with all stakeholders, communicate risks and help needed, and anticipate potential issues, developing action and contingency plans. They will track schedule, cost, and quality of all projects, including deliverables and main KPIs after startup. The role also involves developing funding packages for medium to large capital investments, supporting the organization with agility and technical expertise whenever new business needs arise, and assisting in the development of engineering work processes and change management systems. Adherence to standards of quality, OHS, and controls established by CFIA, HACCP Canada, and WSIB/CSST is required, ensuring compliance with all other local, provincial, and country laws and regulations in any new project proposals.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate fluently (reading, writing, speaking and listening) in English
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing environment executing projects
  • Must have completed a bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Creative, innovative and detail-oriented
  • Must be available to travel 20%
