About The Position

The Leidos Intelligence Sector is seeking a Mid-Level Technical Editor to support the OSINT mission at DIA/NDOC. This position will be located at one of our customer sites in Bethesda, MD; Reston, VA; or Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. This exciting opportunity will enable you to leverage your experience in support of the DIA OSINT mission. In this mission space, we support DIA/NDOC’s OSINT production on behalf of the Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE). The Leidos effort consists of five main tasks: collecting and reporting, mission and information technology architecture, policy and OSINT governance support, OSINT strategic communications strategy support, and OSINT specialized tradecraft and training development support. As a Technical Editor, you will support the development, review, and refinement of a variety of technical and intelligence documents for our customer. You will play a key role in ensuring the clarity, consistency, and compliance of written products with Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE) and Intelligence Community (IC) standards, contributing to the effective communication and dissemination of critical information. You have a demonstrated aptitude and appreciation for the English language, as well as a collaborative nature that allows you to work well with experts across a range of disciplines and cultural backgrounds. Ideally you have a mix of AOR expertise, intellectual curiosity, communications skills, and operational experience to improve the quality of our intelligence products in partnership with a highly qualified, highly motivated team. Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a Polygraph.
  • U.S. Citizenship required per program requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or relevant field and 4 years of experience in technical editing or intelligence publishing.
  • Additional years of experience in lieu of degree are acceptable.
  • Candidates with a minimum of 3 years of recent experience in the field will be considered.
  • Strong mastery of English grammar and formal writing styles.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or relevant field.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in technical editing or intelligence publishing with at least a portion of the experience within the last two (2) years.
  • Successful polygraph within the last 5 years is a significant advantage and preferred.
  • Certification in editing or publishing.
  • Prior OSINT experience, particularly drafting or editing of OSIRs.
  • Experience working with the DIA Style Manual or similar intelligence community writing and formatting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Review written products including OSIRs drafts, IT technical artifacts, policy documents, strategic communications, training materials, tradecraft notes, slides, website content, and other media for clarity, logic, and consistency.
  • Review, proofread, and edit OSIRs to ensure adherence to DIE standards in coordination with the customer.
  • Conduct OSIR quality control, including formatting and proper classification markings in accordance with IC guidance to support dissemination of OSIRs.
  • Collect, organize, and edit information required for preparation of user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and other reports and deliverables.
  • Review communications, tradecraft, policy and governance documents for clarity and compliance with DoD, DIA, and IC standards.
  • Ensure all reporting complies with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
