About The Position

AnaVation is seeking a Technical Writer/Editor to join our team and support our mission critical customer in Reston, VA. As our Technical Writer/Editor you would work with our intelligence, technical, and operational teams to produce high-quality products that meet mission needs. The Technical Writer is essential to the production cycle process, writing and editing throughout documentation deployment. Responsibilities include the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of documents and presentations, including standard operating manuals, intelligence reports, and technical manuals. The Technical Writer will also support record management efforts and collaborate with teams to refine existing production workflows. This role requires use of multiple word processing and presentation tools, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree and 0-4 years of experience related to specific functional area
  • Strong technical writing (content generation, working with subject matter experts, drafts, and formal document reviews).
  • Understanding and experience with document version control: formal documentation drafting, review, finalization, document control, tracking, and reporting.
  • Strong technical editing (reviewing and editing content for clarity and effectiveness of message, as well as proper grammar and formatting).
  • Experience writing and editing documents such as Standard Operation Procedures, user manuals, briefing materials, and intelligence products; as well as training materials to communicate clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience organizing complex integrated document delivery with formal contract deliverables delivered on schedule.
  • Experience coordinating quality peer review of materials.
  • Experience cataloging documents, maintaining records, files, electronic media, and archiving of information for publications per customer regulations and requirements.
  • Use of multiple word processing and presentation tools, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.

Nice To Haves

  • Desktop publishing experience.
  • Experience quickly creating technical drawings, graphics, and figures.
  • Experience with document formats, styles, and technical writing style guides.
  • Experience with written/published products within the IC, military, or agency.
