JSL Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Technical Documentation Specialist to support Littoral Strike and Warfare programs including Gun Weapon System, Littoral Combatant Ship (LCS) Sea Frame, Tomahawk, LCS Mission Modules, SUW MM/PSE, Surface to Surface Missile Module (SSMM), LCS Multi-Mission Surface Combatant (MMSC), DDG-1000, Over the Horizon (OTH) and USCG Athena. The role involves providing support to the Department of Defense on cutting-edge technologies, advanced weapon systems, and innovative solutions to complex problems. Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Excel (Pivot Tables, Gantt Charts, Formulas), Word, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing/editing and/or support for the US Navy

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical editing of manuals according to MIL-DTL-24784D in MS Word/Adobe PDF/FrameMaker, including proofreading, analyzing edits, implementing redlines, and troubleshooting format. This includes lifetime management of Technical Manuals (TM) within Windchill/MBPS- Model Based Product Support.
  • Perform technical editing of manuals according to S1000D in MS PTC Arbor text, including proofreading, analyzing edits, implementing red lines, and troubleshooting format.
  • Conduct S1000D technical manual development, applying elements to XML data modules from Business Rules according to S1000D issue specifications.
  • Develop/revise programs/code/scripts using XML, VBA, Javascript, Arbortext Command Language, and Python to automate manual authoring in XML, data management of S1000D files, publishing of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), and develop/maintain databases.
  • Perform drawing management and assessments to support technical documentation planning and execution of deliverable engineering and schedules.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and develop papers on fleet technical feedback reports to recommend corrective actions for fleet readiness and support.
  • Provide analysis support for Engineering technical data and documentation to maintain configuration control of hardware and software products for existing configurations, new releases, change requests, and defect reports.
  • Conduct technical investigations and make recommendations to improve fleet readiness through improved sustainability by addressing technical data and training issues.
  • Support analysis and tracking of engineering inputs and metrics for technical requirements and program reviews, including performance and organizational management metrics, program resource support plans, Integrated Master Schedules, and program briefings/technical papers.
  • Provide continuous improvement of processes by analyzing/revising data and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide graphics editing using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or AutoCAD.
