Activities include improving immunization services and disease surveillance, expanding outbreak preparedness and response capacity, reaching high-risk groups who are un- or under-immunized, supporting evidence-based decisions through National Immunization Technical Advisory Groups, and strengthening program evaluation and sustainability. In coordination with the MERL Director and under the supervision of the Project Director, the Technical Director will lead the project’s data-quality, monitoring, evaluation, learning, and performance-improvement work. The role oversees primary evaluation and performance-monitoring data collection, data quality assessments and validation using health management information systems such as DHIS2, and the analysis and interpretation of primary and secondary data. The Technical Director designs strategies and systems that strengthen immunization data collection, quality, analysis, reporting, and use for timely decision-making; provides technical assistance to implementing partners and national and sub-national stakeholders; and documents and shares lessons learned and best practices.
