About The Position

The Technical Data Steward will develop and publish data definitions, rules, mappings, and transformations. This role facilitates effective data governance practices and provides actionable insights to support business objectives, ensuring the integrity and quality of data assets. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in data management or data stewardship roles.
  • Working knowledge in Hospitality, Gaming and/or Accounting applications, and others.
  • Proven experience with data governance tools, data quality tools, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Cognos, Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Working knowledge of agile principles and practices.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Stakeholders, Team Members, Product Owners, and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Must be able to work on call on a rotational basis as required.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Practicing, supporting, and promoting Station Casinos “We Win Hearts” Company-wide culture and demonstrating Station Casinos’ Championship Service Standards at all times.
  • Developing and maintaining data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency across various systems and platforms.
  • Monitoring and enforcing data standards, data definitions, and data lifecycle management.
  • Conducting data audits and data profiling to identify and address data quality issues.
  • Gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for data-related projects and initiatives.
  • Identifying and resolving application performance and availability issues in a cost-effective and timely fashion.
  • Translating business needs into technical specifications, business rules, and source-to-target data mappings for IT development teams to implement.
  • Performing data analysis to support decision-making and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate data findings.
  • Facilitating workshops and meetings with stakeholders to understand business processes and requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of data initiatives with business goals.
  • Providing training and support to business users on data management practices and tools.
  • Communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements related to data management and business analysis.
  • Staying updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to data governance and business intelligence.
  • Recommending and implementing enhancements to data systems and business processes.
