About The Position

As a Technical Coordinator, you will be a key technical resource supporting production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure optimal equipment performance, reliability, and compliance. This role involves supporting production coordinators with equipment and operational insights, monitoring and supporting the work order system, and partnering with maintenance planners and schedulers. You will also perform routine checks, lead troubleshooting efforts, serve as a technical resource in areas like sterility and hygiene, and drive contamination control standards. Additionally, you will assist engineers with SOP development, interface with vendors, provide technical training, support technical projects, initiate Management of Change (MOC) activities, maintain equipment documentation, develop LOTO procedures, and collaborate with production leadership on operator capabilities and budgeting.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong technical background with proven troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to operate and understand all plant and process equipment within assigned area
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Proficiency in systems such as SAP, as well as MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong collaboration skills across production, maintenance, and engineering teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fermentation, biotech, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with LEAN methodologies and structured problem-solving tools
  • Experience working with preventive maintenance and reliability programs
  • Knowledge of contamination control, sterile processes, or hygienic design
  • Interest in mentoring and developing operator skillsets

Responsibilities

  • Support production coordinators with equipment and operational insights to enable effective scheduling
  • Monitor and support the work order (WO) system to ensure timely planning, execution, and follow-up of maintenance activities
  • Partner with maintenance planners and schedulers and participate in LEAN meetings to drive alignment and efficiency
  • Perform routine checks and walk-downs to ensure equipment performance, reliability, and operational consistency
  • Lead or support troubleshooting and root cause analysis using tools such as Go Look See, PDCA, A3, 3C, and RCA
  • Serve as a department-level technical resource in areas such as sterility, filtration, and hygiene
  • Drive contamination control and hygiene standards in alignment with SOPs, including tracking results
  • Assist engineers in developing and maintaining SOPs to ensure compliance and equipment reliability
  • Interface with vendors regarding consumables (e.g., filters, probes) to ensure cost-effective usage
  • Provide technical training, certification support, and mentorship to operators on equipment and best practices
  • Support technical projects, including URS development, commissioning plans, and acting as a user representative
  • Initiate and support Management of Change (MOC) activities to enhance equipment and process performance
  • Maintain accurate equipment documentation (tagging, naming, P&IDs) and recommend PMs, calibrations, and spare parts
  • Develop and support LOTO procedures for new and existing equipment
  • Collaborate with production leadership to assess and build operator technical capabilities
  • Support budgeting efforts related to maintenance, capital spend, and operational costs
