About The Position

Independence Pet Holdings, established in 2021, is a corporate holding company managing a diverse portfolio of pet health brands and services, including insurance, pet education, and lost recovery services across North America. The company aims to simplify the pet parenting journey and improve pet well-being through innovative solutions. They operate with a full stack of resources, capital, and services to support pet parents, utilizing a multi-brand and omni-channel approach that includes their own insurance carrier, insurance brands, and partner brands. This role is for a Technical Business Systems Analyst to be based in their Cleveland, OH office, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Requirements

  • 3 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or Business Support
  • Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
  • Ability to work with business rules, system configurations, and operational processes.
  • Technical curiosity and the capacity to learn proprietary systems.
  • Experience supporting web-based applications or business systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Insurance industry experience.
  • Exposure to claims or rating systems.
  • Business rules engines such as InRule.
  • Customer service or operational support environments.

Responsibilities

  • Performs research and interviews to determine technical business requirements and then translates into specifications for technical projects.
  • Provides internal technical support and manages web-based services and customer support.
  • Confirms requirements to ensure they meet stakeholders needs.
  • Engages end users and business stakeholders to document and communicate business requirements.
  • Translates the product vision into detailed specifications for the development team.
  • Presents user requirements, functional specifications, technical specifications, and process flow diagrams to the development team.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
