About The Position

QAD is seeking a senior Global Trade Compliance Technical Business Consultant for a North American pre-sales role. The consultant serves as a domain and solutions expert alongside a Global Trade Compliance Sales Executive, translating complex compliance requirements into product demonstrations, proof-of-concept exercises, and executive presentations that support sales opportunities. The successful candidate understands Foreign Trade Zone structures, Customs and Border Protection, Importer of Record obligations, classification, screening, trade agreements, duty drawback, and export controls. They can build demo environments tailored to a prospect’s industry and compliance needs and explain how AI can support trade compliance processes, including classification, screening, document processing, duty optimization, and regulatory monitoring. The consultant partners closely with the Sales Executive on account strategy and contributes technical proposals, RFP responses, and proof-of-concept documentation.

Requirements

  • 6–8+ years of hands-on global trade compliance experience as a practitioner or in technical pre-sales/solutions consulting for a GTC software vendor.

  • Executive presence and polished communication skills for audiences ranging from IT and compliance teams to CFOs and COOs.
  • Solid foundation in AI and its applications to trade compliance, with the ability to articulate value in terms of accuracy, auditability, and regulatory defensibility.
  • Collaborative operating style and ability to partner with a Sales Executive, align on account strategy, and balance leading with enabling the account executive.
  • Ability to build and deliver custom demo environments for prospect-specific scenarios.
  • Strong written communication skills for technical proposals, RFP responses, and proof-of-concept documentation.
  • Experience with modern sales technology such as Gong, Outreach, and Vidyard, and use of AI tools to increase personal productivity.
  • Preparation-oriented approach, including thorough prospect research and customization of demonstrations.
