Requirements

  • Systems Engineering and development experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience, plus a Bachelors degree is required or a Masters degree and 6 years experience.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible, SaltStack, or Puppet.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL.
  • Familiarity with incidents, problems, and changes management system such as ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, or Certified Ansible Engineer.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technical teams to identify areas for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop and implement automation strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs and enhance overall quality.
  • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using various technologies and tools, such as scripting languages (e.g., Phyton, PowerShell), automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform), monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), log and data management (e.g., Splunk, Elastic Stack (ELK), and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Work closely with technical teams to integrate automation solutions with existing systems, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to services.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to technical teams on automation best practices, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor automation solutions, identify areas for improvement, and optimize automation workflows to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of automation solutions, including design, development, and deployment processes.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with technical teams through training, workshops, and documentation.
