About The Position

The Technical Architect supports industrial projects of varying scopes and sizes, from large-scale logistics hubs to urban nano-fulfillment centers. Working within an integrated architecture and engineering practice, the role develops technical design solutions that use space efficiently and preserve flexibility from early concepts and feasibility through detailed design. The position contributes to high-quality projects that meet client requirements and support project value.

The architect represents the organization in dealings with clients, sub-consultants, and contractor representatives. The role reviews design requirements, drawings, and schedules; designs significant building components; integrates engineering design; evaluates site and zoning constraints; and produces and reviews architectural drawings while ensuring applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements are met.

Requirements

• Ability to analyze and understand design intent to produce efficient and effective technical design solutions.
• Architectural design and presentation skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of mechanical and electrical (M&E) and structural building systems, technical wiring, permits, and building codes.
• Architectural software skills, such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Related post-secondary education.

Responsibilities

• Represent the organization and interact professionally with clients, sub-consultants, and contractor representatives.
• Review design requirements, drawings, and schedules to ensure program and client requirements are met and applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements are followed.
• Design significant components of buildings, integrate engineering design, and adhere to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.
• Evaluate site conditions, including zoning requirements and site constraints.
• Meet with authorities having jurisdiction, as needed, to establish requirements.
• Perform technical reviews and edit drawings as required.
• Review design requirements, offer recommendations, and create architectural drawings to support construction projects.
