About The Position

NORR is seeking a Technical Architect to contribute to industrial architecture projects ranging from large-scale logistics hubs to urban nano-fulfillment centers. The role supports projects from initial concept and feasibility through detailed design, helping develop efficient, flexible, high-quality schemes that optimize project potential and client return on investment. The position involves collaborating with clients, sub-consultants, contractors, and colleagues across an integrated architecture and engineering practice.

Requirements

• Ability to analyze and understand design intent to produce efficient and effective technical design solutions.
• Knowledge of architectural design and presentation, intermediate M&E and structural building systems, technical wiring, and permit and building codes.
• Architectural software skills, such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Related post-secondary education.

• Registration with a relevant professional architectural or technologist association.

Responsibilities

• Represent the organization and interact professionally with clients, sub-consultants, and contractor representatives.
• Review design requirements, drawings, and schedules to ensure program and client requirements are met and applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements are satisfied.
• Design significant components of buildings, integrating engineering design and complying with applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.
• Evaluate site conditions, including zoning requirements and site constraints, and meet with authorities having jurisdiction as needed to establish requirements.
• Perform technical reviews, edit drawings as required, review design requirements, offer recommendations, and create architectural drawings to support construction projects.
