Perficient•Town and Country, MO
•$120,000 - $170,000

About The Position

Perficient is hiring a Technical Architect for its Salesforce practice, where small, AI-first teams deliver client engagements. The architect sets and enforces technical standards, owns the solution architecture and reviews team output, and is accountable for production deployments. AI tools are used across requirements, stories, configuration, tests, and documentation, with a named person responsible for reviewing, correcting, and approving generated work. The role owns technical and security architecture, integration design, data models, technical estimates, review capacity, story approvals, and release management. It also involves verifying platform capabilities against current documentation, maintaining executive technical relationships, and presenting and defending architecture to clients. For Marketing Cloud engagements, the architect administers new instance creation; integrates Marketing Cloud with the broader Salesforce ecosystem; architects solutions spanning Marketing Cloud Engagement, Marketing Cloud Next, and Data 360; designs Data 360 models, ingestion, and identity resolution for Marketing Cloud activation; and guides migrations from Marketing Cloud Engagement to Marketing Cloud Next. The architect configures and governs engagement AI tooling, applies AI to design, code, migration logic, org audits, and runbooks, and critically reviews all generated output. The role requires fluency with the AI tools used by an engagement and current, hands-on use of AI in architecture, build, and review.

  • Salesforce technical architecture experience on client engagements, including integration and security across systems.
  • Accountability for production deployments on a live client system.

  • Experience working on the Marketing Cloud and Salesforce.com platforms.
  • Marketing Cloud Engagement architecture experience, including data extensions, journeys, and integration with Salesforce Core.
  • Marketing Cloud Next experience or a clear grasp of how it differs from Marketing Cloud Engagement.
  • Data 360 experience, including data modeling, ingestion, identity resolution, and activation to Marketing Cloud.
  • Ability to explain technical matters to both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage client technology leadership relationships and resolve engagement conflicts without escalation.
  • Experience taking a new product or platform from unfamiliarity to architecture on a live engagement.

Nice To Haves

  • Delivery experience outside the primary platform at least once.
  • Ownership of fixed-price or outcome-based estimates.

  • Data Cloud Consultant certification.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical architecture, security architecture, integration design, and the data model across the platform and connected systems.
  • Advise on technical approach and feasibility during pursuits and stand behind technical estimates.
  • Assess deployability early, including the proportion of the build handled by source-controlled metadata versus manual work.
  • Set a review-capacity ceiling before each sprint and maintain that capacity despite schedule pressure.
  • Record technical approval on every story, disposition first-pass review findings, and return final review decisions within one business day.
  • Verify platform capability claims against current documentation before they are used in designs, presented to clients, or implemented in an org.
  • Own release management and every production deployment, including hot fixes, using a rehearsed runbook.
  • Hold the executive technical relationship and present architecture to client audiences.
  • Administer the creation of new Marketing Cloud instances.
  • Design and implement integrations between Marketing Cloud and the broader Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Architect solutions across Marketing Cloud Engagement, Marketing Cloud Next, and Data 360, selecting the appropriate product for each capability.
  • Design Data 360 data models, ingestion, and identity resolution to support Marketing Cloud segmentation and activation.
  • Guide migrations from Marketing Cloud Engagement to Marketing Cloud Next, determining what transfers and what must be rebuilt.
  • Own AI tooling configuration for engagements, including tool selection, grounding in client orgs and standards, and permissions.
  • Use AI in design, code, migration logic, org audits, and runbooks, and inspect validation queries before trusting their results.
  • Critically review, correct, and approve generated work before it moves forward, and be able to explain changes made during review.
  • Work fluently with the AI tools used by the engagement, such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, platform assistants, or client tools.
