Technical Architect Contractor

Fusion Risk Management•,

About The Position

Fusion’s Professional Services team is seeking a Salesforce Technical Architect on a contract basis to cover a team member’s planned leave. The role keeps client solutions moving by providing long-term visibility of solutions, supporting integrations, designing and building Apex-based solutions, reviewing code, and supporting implementation consultants on active engagements. The work is focused on Salesforce platform delivery. The contractor will receive a targeted orientation on active engagements and their technical context rather than learning the full Fusion product, and is expected to contribute quickly. Responsibilities include reviewing solutions for security and scalability; designing, building, testing, and deploying Salesforce Lightning Platform solutions; translating client and project requirements into technical designs; configuring third-party integrations; advising implementation consultants; and documenting work for a smooth handoff to the returning team member. The role also uses AI tools to improve development speed and quality and shares useful practices with the team. The engagement is hourly and expected to be full-time, approximately 40 hours per week. Contractors are not eligible for Fusion employee benefits or bonus.

  • Working knowledge of Lightning Web Components and Custom Property Editors, Flow, and Platform Events.
  • Knowledge of OWASP vulnerabilities and Force.com defenses against them.
  • Practical experience using AI in development work, such as AI-assisted coding, code review, test generation, and Salesforce AI features.
  • Experience with REST APIs and integrating Salesforce with external systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience working with external clients.
  • Self-directed, with the ability to ramp quickly on existing work with minimal onboarding.
  • Agile methodology experience, including Scrum or Kanban.

  • Perform code reviews as part of the deployment process.
  • Translate requirements from implementation consultants and engagement managers into technical designs, and explain solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Configure and build integrations with third-party systems, working with client technical teams as needed.
  • Advise implementation consultants on technical approaches, troubleshoot blockers, and participate in Collaborative Design meetings.
  • Document designs, code, and handoff notes so the returning team member can resume work without disruption.
  • Use AI tools, including AI-assisted coding and Salesforce AI capabilities, to improve speed and quality, and share useful practices with the team.
  • Complete contractor onboarding and system access, and receive a handoff covering active engagements, open code reviews, and the deployment process.
  • Take ownership of assigned engagements and development work, and begin supporting implementation consultants.
  • Deliver assigned solutions and code reviews on schedule, keep documentation current, and complete a thorough handoff before the engagement ends.
