About The Position

This position will be a member of the Operations and Support Services team. The primary role will be to process and manage the technical assets purchased by the Information Technology department. The responsibilities for this position will include receiving, tagging, and entering equipment into the approved asset-tracking system.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively manage device delivery and processing.
  • Ability to own and manage the IT equipment asset management process.
  • Understanding of asset management and ITSM solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to established SOPs.
  • Ability to effectively manage the inventory audit process.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work with and manage large asset inventories.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, departments, and officials.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 LBS. and also push or pull heavy objects.
  • May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field and two (2) years of experience in development and maintenance of systems operations OR graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate degree and four (4) years of experience OR graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and six (6) years of experience in a related field.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • A nationally recognized technical certification required if the applicant does not have an Associate degree.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, processes, and tracks technical equipment throughout the device life cycle.
  • Assesses equipment upon delivery, ensuring that it is in working condition, and processes the receiving documentation.
  • Gathers and documents asset information and ensures that all devices requiring a county asset tag are processed.
  • Coordinates with the Clerk’s Office to ensure tagging occurs prior to device deployment.
  • Checks surplus documentation to ensure the device was marked accordingly in the asset tracking system.
  • Coordinates device delivery and deployment staging.
  • Manages the asset inventory tracking for the Information Technology and spearheads the department’s annual inventory audit.
  • Explores opportunities to improve the asset management process.
  • Supports the County by maintaining accurate asset records.
  • Develops and maintains documentation.
  • Keeps concise records for inventory and user management.
  • Keeps abreast of current technology.
  • Follows established standards and makes suggestions for improvement.
  • Provides status reports giving a detailed description of tasks and the time devoted to each task.
  • Performs related work as required.
