About The Position

We're looking for a Technical AEO/GEO Specialist to audit how discoverable the client's content is to AI answer engines, and to work directly with their engineering team to implement the fixes. You'll run technical audits, write implementation specs, and QA releases to make sure the work actually lands. This is a hands-on role. You'll be doing the audits yourself and sitting with engineers through implementation, not handing off a recommendations deck and moving on. Success looks like fixes shipped and visibility improved, not findings documented. The category is young, so expect to bring your technical SEO foundation and adapt it. Some of what works here is still being figured out.

Requirements

  • Deep technical SEO experience, including structured data and schema markup, site architecture, and crawlability.
  • Practical understanding of how AI and generative answer engines retrieve and surface content, and what makes a page citable.
  • Ability to write specs and tickets an engineering team can implement without hand-holding.
  • Experience working directly with client-side or partner engineering teams, including navigating their release process and priorities.
  • Comfort auditing and QA'ing your own work, and being accountable for whether a fix actually shipped.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at an agency or platform delivering AEO or GEO as a service.
  • Background working inside a large enterprise environment where changes move through a formal engineering roadmap.
  • Familiarity with tooling for citation and visibility tracking across AI platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Running discoverability audits across site structure, structured data, and crawlability to find what's limiting visibility in AI answer engines.
  • Turning findings into clear implementation specs the client's engineering team can build from.
  • Partnering with engineering through implementation, answering questions and troubleshooting as issues come up.
  • QA'ing releases to confirm fixes were deployed and are working correctly.
  • Prioritizing fixes by impact and effort, and tracking progress against the roadmap.
  • Working with the measurement lead to connect technical changes to visibility results, so the team knows which fixes moved the needle.

Benefits

  • Potential to transition to a full-time role on the client side.
