About The Position

This is a long-term contract position with the government, requiring a hybrid work arrangement in Washington, DC. The role involves significant in-person interviews. The Tech SME - Telecom and Network Technician will be responsible for administering key IT management platforms, managing integrations, providing technical support, and maintaining telecom and phone systems. The position requires a strong understanding of IT asset management, network support, and excellent communication and leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Technical SME or similar role.
  • Minimum of 10 years in IT asset management and network support.
  • Extensive knowledge of IT asset management principles, including compliance, lifecycle management, and industry best practices as defined by IAITAM.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Track record of successfully driving IT initiatives and projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a relevant field; equivalent work experience may be considered.

  • Relevant certifications within the technical domain (e.g., IAITAM Certified Asset Management Professional, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate).

Responsibilities

  • Administer Kaseya IT management platform for endpoint monitoring, policy configuration, deployment, health monitoring, updates, and issue resolution.
  • Manage Oomnitza integrations with other IT systems (Kaseya, Intune, Absolute) for asset tracking and reporting, and generate reports on asset utilization, compliance, and lifecycle status.
  • Administer and configure Microsoft Intune for endpoint management, including device enrollment, policy management (MDM/MAM), app deployment, security settings, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical assistance to end-users for hardware and software issues across desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, acting as a primary contact for IT inquiries.
  • Resolve support tickets promptly, escalate complex issues, and support device deployment, imaging, and configuration.
  • Assist with the maintenance and administration of IT systems, ensuring seamless integration between Kaseya, Oomnitza, Intune, and other tools.
  • Monitor system performance, identify and resolve issues, recommend improvements, and conduct periodic health checks and updates.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for Kaseya, Oomnitza, and Intune configurations, policies, and workflows, including troubleshooting steps and system changes.
  • Generate regular reports on IT asset usage, endpoint compliance, and system performance.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Avaya phone systems (handsets, voicemail, system servers).
  • Manage, test, and troubleshoot analog and digital fax lines.
  • Monitor voice and data lines, coordinating with external telecom carriers and service providers to resolve outages.
  • Handle moves, adds, and changes (MACs) for all staff extensions and telecommunications hardware.
  • Support Qmatic customer journey and queue management systems, troubleshooting system endpoints (ticket printers, digital signage, audio-visual displays).
  • Coordinate with IT and facility stakeholders to ensure seamless integration between Qmatic software and the organization's LAN/WAN infrastructure.
