About The Position

Administers ionizing radiation using imaging modalities to perform highly specialized radiographic procedures. The role requires knowledge of growth and development across the life span and the ability to assess patient-status data and interpret information according to patients’ age-specific needs. For Interventional Radiology, staff provide support in the Interventional Radiology suites and may also be assigned to provide imaging support for the Hybrid operating room and assist with Stealth guidance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from an accredited radiography program of study.
• ARRT-R certification and Arizona CRT required.
• Basic Life Support certification required upon hire and valid for at least 90 days from the start date; maintain BLS competency.
• ACLS required within six months of hire.
• CV, CI, VI, RCIS, or RCES certification required within two years of hire.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the life span and interpret patient information according to age-specific needs.
• Ability to improvise standard procedures.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, make decisions, and direct work and patient flow.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience as an interventional radiology or cardiac cath lab technologist preferred.
• Certification in Cardiac or Vascular Intervention by the ARRT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer ionizing radiation using imaging modalities to perform specialized radiographic procedures.
• Assess data reflecting patients’ status and interpret information according to age-specific needs.
• Provide support within Interventional Radiology suites.
• Provide imaging support for the Hybrid operating room when assigned.
• Assist in Stealth guidance when assigned.
• Improvise standard procedures as needed.
• Work independently and in a team environment, making decisions and directing work and patient flow to achieve operational efficiency.
