About The Position

This role involves troubleshooting and performing Root Cause Analysis or Corrective Action for BMS (Building Management Systems) and EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring Systems) related issues in AWS data centers. The position requires training and assisting internal customers and stakeholders with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of these systems. Additionally, the role provides technical assistance and support to operations throughout the data center lifecycle, reviews maintenance results, and manages BMS and EPMS improvement projects. Procurement activities and participation in a global on-call schedule for immediate technical support are also key aspects of this role. The engineer will attend project meetings, coordinate with project leaders, and report status to management, while also supporting Controls projects related to commissioning activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field and five years of experience in the job offered or a Controls related role.
  • Ten years of experience in the job offered or a Controls related role as equivalent to a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience.
  • Two years of experience in industrial controls in critical environment (data center, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, laboratory, power, or water).
  • Two years of experience working on controls or electrical construction project coordination with multiple teams or vendors to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis or Corrective Action for BMS and EPMS related issues in AWS data centers.
  • Train and assist internal customers and stakeholders with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of BMS and EPMS systems.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to operations during life cycle of the data center.
  • Review results and action items from the quarterly maintenances for BMS and EPMS and take actions to get them resolved.
  • Develop BMS and EPMS projects scope of work, schedule, budget, and level of efforts (LOE) to projects requested by customers and stakeholders.
  • Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects in AWS data centers.
  • Assist in procurement related activities including request for quotation/proposals, responding to request for information, review of vendor proposals and issuance of purchase orders.
  • Participate in AWS global on-call schedule to provide immediate BMS and EPMS technical support to in-service data centers.
  • Attend project related meetings, coordinate with project leaders and regularly report status to Controls and stakeholders management.
  • Support Controls projects related commissioning activities in the data centers.
