Tech Lead (M/F/D) - Remote (EMEA, GMT+/-2)
About The Position
Sastrify is seeking a Tech Lead who will act as the primary technical counterpart to the Head of Product & Engineering. This is a high-impact, non-managerial role with over 70% hands-on coding, suitable for a seasoned engineer passionate about building and product development. The role reports directly to the CTO and bridges the gap between product discovery and technical execution. As the company scales, there will be an opportunity to build and lead a small team of engineers. The company is building the future of software management with an AI-powered platform for IT, Procurement, and Finance teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, with significant time in a senior, staff, or founding engineer role.
- High-growth SaaS experience is a plus, but experience shipping products from zero-to-one or scaling existing platforms is valued.
- Expert-level proficiency in the TypeScript/Node.js/React ecosystem.
- Comfortable optimizing React components and debugging PostgreSQL queries.
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred, but GCP/Azure experience with willingness to learn is acceptable).
- Comfort with IaC (Terraform or similar) and event-driven architectures.
- Actively use AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) in daily development and can demonstrate how they change the development process (planning, architecture, code generation).
- Experience building with LLMs beyond wrapper APIs, such as RAG pipelines, agent architectures, or production AI features.
- Ability to think in terms of user value and explain complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of taking products from initial concept to production.
- Fluent English.
- Clear, concise async communication skills.
- Ability to influence without formal authority.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a founding engineer or early-stage technical co-founder.
- Production experience with LangChain.js, LangGraph, or similar agent frameworks in TypeScript.
- Experience migrating or evolving legacy architectures while keeping the product running.
- German language skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example by writing high-quality, production-ready code across the entire stack (React/Node.js).
- Tackle the most complex technical challenges and set the quality bar for the team.
- Pioneer AI-augmented development workflows for the entire team, architecting AI features (LLMs, agents, automation) and using AI tools to improve code shipping processes.
- Collaborate daily with the Head of Product & Engineering to translate the product vision into a robust technical roadmap.
- Act as the "voice of engineering" in product discovery.
- Define and evolve the full-stack architecture, using the right tool for the right problem.
- Evaluate new feature requests for technical risk and effort, providing high-level estimates and alternative technical paths.
- Advocate for and implement best practices in IaC and CI/CD, ensuring fast and reliable deployment cycles.
- Drive technical excellence through deep code reviews, pair programming, and setting standards for documentation and testing.
