About The Position

Under general supervision, the Commercial Truck Driving Instructor teaches courses leading to the Commercial Truck Driving technical certificate of credit. The instructor develops instructional goals and objectives, evaluates student progress, and maintains the supplies, equipment, records, and program requirements necessary to support instruction. The role also includes ensuring safety and security in the training area and communicating with students, staff, and other educators about instructional programs and related issues.

Requirements

• Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the assigned course.
• Minimum qualifications are determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies.

Responsibilities

• Develop instructional goals and objectives.
• Evaluate students’ progress toward goals and objectives.
• Request and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate.
• Prepare and maintain documents and administrative reports.
• Attend staff development workshops, seminars, and conferences.
• Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
• Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues.
