About The Position

GM Performance Power Units is seeking a skilled and passionate Teardown Technician for the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) to join our team in Concord, NC. This role involves assisting with engine strip/teardown, cleaning high-performance race engine components, and non-destructive testing (NDT), all while adhering to high standards and attention to detail. The ideal candidate would be mechanically adept, have a passion for motorsports, and be able to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of engine assembly tools and engine components.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand basic engine operation.
Basic computer skills.
Physical ability to perform tasks requiring standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs., and using upper body strength for cleaning processes.

Responsibilities

Assist in the teardown/strip of the ICE assembly.
Process new and used engine components through critical cleaning operations using both manual and automated means.
Perform NDT operations as part of the teardown process.
Perform daily and weekly maintenance on cleaning machines, ensuring they perform to the highest standard.
Perform cleaning processes on complete engines after racetrack or dyno use.
Assist in the uncrating process of the engine/power unit.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to environmental and safety standards.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to meet production timelines.
Adapt to changing work environments and competing demands while maintaining a high standard of quality.
Support alternative shift schedules, including weekends, as needed.
