About The Position

Disassembly of customer’s hydraulic cylinders to facilitate repair and return to service. This position is very labor intensive and requires the mechanic to work in a climate-controlled area, but they must expect to get wet, oily, and dirty every day. The mechanic will operate special equipment and work to minimize damage to cylinder components during disassembly.

Requirements

  • Strong ability to use hand tools, torches, sledgehammers, and pneumatic tools.
  • Manual dexterity required for disassembly of intricate parts.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic principles.
  • Alert and attentive to details.
  • Physically able to stoop, bend, lift and position materials of heavy weight.
  • Willingness to work hours (including overtime) or shift assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantles customer’s hydraulic components, cleans, inspects, and evaluates parts for usability.
  • Transport parts to appropriate machine to have repair operations performed.
  • Operates special equipment and work to minimize damage to cylinder components during disassembly.
  • Observes all rules for personal safety and all public laws or regulations for protection of the environment.
  • Performs other duties assigned.
