About The Position

Dauphin County Clerk of Courts is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of ARD/Administrative Assistant I. An employee in this position is responsible for administrative and clerical support work which includes but is not limited to the following: execution of time sensitive documents, assist customers, data entry, compiling and filing in the Clerk of Courts Office, with the primary focus on the ARD Program. This is a Union position. The employee in this role is responsible for performing the following essential functions listed below:

Requirements

  • Graduation from High School or an accredited equivalency program
  • Clerical and data entry experience required
  • A favorable criminal background is also required
  • Must possess rudimentary knowledge of office automation.
  • Must be able to speak and understand the English language and to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must possess knowledge in the Pennsylvania Crimes Code, Rules of Criminal Procedure, Vehicle Code, and the criminal justice community in the Central Pennsylvania area.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills to interface with other members of the criminal justice community and Dauphin County government.
  • Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding criminal justice information reviewed as part of working in the Clerk of Courts Office.
  • A favorable background check is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Common Pleas Case Management System (CPCMS) experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and assess cases for ARD Court.
  • Dockets and distributes ARD Orders to the appropriate individuals or departments.
  • Submits appropriate paperwork to PennDOT.
  • Greets and assists clients at the counter.
  • Answer phone inquiries or directs questions to proper individuals or departments.
  • Prepares files for scanning.
  • Ensures all duties of the department are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Operates computer, scanner, copier, and other office equipment as needed.
  • Dockets, images and files, all documents (electronic and paper) filed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Prepares and processes both state and county commitments.
  • Collects fees and issues receipts.
  • Prepares bail paperwork.
