About The Position

Family Farm and Home is a family-owned and operated retail company with 71 locations across Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Team Members support the company’s mission by providing exceptional service, products, and prices to customers. The role contributes to daily store operations and appearance, including stocking and organizing products, recovering and assembling merchandise, operating the cash register, and maintaining store cleanliness.

Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Able to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members.
Organized, attentive to detail, and able to multitask.
Knowledge of basic computer systems.
Able to stand for extended periods and reach, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Promote Family Farm and Home’s mission statement and family values.
Carry out daily operational goals and priorities assigned by store management.
Use Farm Hand to receive communications and tasks from the corporate office and store management.
Greet customers and interact with them in a pleasant and positive manner.
Encourage customers to participate in programs such as the loyalty program, extended warranties, add-on initiatives, financing, and Item of the Month.
Answer phone calls professionally and assist customers in the store and on company-supported internet sites, including processing special orders.
Use the point-of-sale system to check out customers and follow cash-handling procedures.
Use On the Go to complete planograms and mass layouts in the correct locations.
Use Harvester to complete online customer orders.
Support customers with financing options and use financing websites to complete credit inquiries.
Assist with promotional signage, price changes, clearance pricing, and other in-store signage.
Assist with freight, recovery, and out-of-stock processes.
Achieve passing scores on corporate store audits, assessments, and store walks.
Monitor in-store safety issues and potential shoplifting, and communicate concerns to store management.
Uphold and support company loss-prevention measures.
Safely and efficiently operate a forklift and/or pallet jack, if at least 18 years old.
Help build and assemble store displays, products, and fixtures.
Maintain cleanliness in the sales floor, receiving area, cash office, register area, restrooms, and break room.
Uphold merchandising, cleanliness, and safety standards.
Assist with completing the Daily Operational Standards checklist.
Contribute to a positive working environment for all team members.
Perform other duties as assigned by store management or company officials.
