About The Position

The Team Leader lead will be responsible for the personnel and product in their work center(s). They will handle personnel training, quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives in their area. Product and personnel status will be measured and reported on to the Production Supervisor. Team Leads are responsible to monitor and manage the completion of shop orders and operations as determined by the part number routing, ensuring operations are complete on time and at or under the allotted labor hours. They actively manage the safety culture, implement refined policies, and ensure their cells are in safe working order. They also review quality data to ensure that manufacturing quality is improving and that the MoM and work instructions are updated to reflect corrective actions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to understand and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Organization and time management skills; ability to manage multiple critical tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to efficiently plan and meet project schedule deadlines, while maintaining contingency plans.
  • Advanced understanding of production workflows and ability to prioritize work.
  • Capability of recognizing individual strengths and developmental needs within the team and constructing training.
  • Advanced competency using ERPs in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead personnel and product in their work center(s).
  • Handle personnel training, quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage the completion of shop orders and operations.
  • Ensure operations are complete on time and at or under the allotted labor hours.
  • Actively manage the safety culture, implement refined policies, and ensure cells are in safe working order.
  • Review quality data to ensure manufacturing quality is improving and update MoM and work instructions.
  • Maintain accurate service records and construct preventative maintenance plans.
  • Schedule equipment services while mitigating unnecessary interruptions to production schedules.
  • Accurately maintain compliance of all required documentation and production reporting.
  • Observe machine operation, technician output, identify defects, and deviations from standards.
  • Utilize discrepancy data to troubleshoot, conduct root cause analysis, and provide solutions and training.
  • Set the pace of work within the cell using IFS routings and data.
  • Review part number routings before beginning work and report issues.
  • Accurately report schedule status (on time/late/ahead of schedule).
  • Utilize forecast planning to mitigate parts shortages and ensure timely notification.
  • Keep manufacturing traveler and Bus BoM/Kanban usage updated.
  • Maintain and review worked/hours allocated to jobs and ensure reporting is precise.
  • Prepare for contingency planning to mitigate excessive O&M expenditures.
  • Responsible for team safety and improvement of initiatives.
  • Process change requests from ECOs on SO within the cell.
