The primary purpose of the Team Leader is to plan, organize and coordinate the overall daily activities of the Tool & Die Technicians. They will also provide job role coverage in the case of team absence. Additional responsibilities of this role may vary by department. This role is located in Normal, IL and will report to the Manager of Tool & Die Operations.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in Tool & Die required
5+ years experience working with Class A panels
3-5 years of experience working in a high volume Tool & Die or Stamping operation
Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day.
Required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
Ability to perform all duties in a working environment that may contain dust, high noise levels, hot and cold weather.

Responsibilities

Manage day to day Technician assignment plan based on available manning and skillsets.
Ensure team in following standardized work for the area through observations and coaching.
Maintain 5S and Safety standards through line walks
Engage with Technicians to address concerns or issues to promote continuous improvement.
Ensure team has proper tools and material to perform their jobs
Ensure standard business practices are followed (For Example: Non- Conforming Material)
Escalate line conditions to group leader or support staff
Maintain quality standards through checks and audits
Complete leader standard work
Fill in as backfill Technicians for the area as needed.
Actively supports management in the planning and execution of the launch, ramp ups and production.
Lead continuous improvement activities as needed.
