About The Position

This position mentors, trains, and schedules employees in the Materials Management department. It performs materials management duties, troubleshoots order issues, supports employee performance management, and helps ensure safe, efficient service in accordance with Memorial Hermann policies and standards.

Requirements

• At least five years of Materials Management experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Advanced computer skills, including knowledge of Materials Management Information Systems.
• Advanced leadership and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform materials management duties, including stocking, counting items received, loading, and shipping.
• Troubleshoot problems and resolve issues with orders.
• Train and mentor Materials Management Attendants.
• Prepare work schedules, assist the manager with performance issues, and provide input to the manager on performance evaluations.
• Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards, including budgetary specifications for time management, supply management, and service productivity.
• Meet mandatory and continuing education requirements and maintain skills competency; support department goals and serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
• Model Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
