About The Position
The Team Lead (also described as Deck Manager / Team Manager) leads daily team and class operations in a swim-school setting. The role involves supervising, supporting, and training hourly staff; coaching instructors and serving as a lead instructor; encouraging students’ progress; and helping families feel welcome and supported. The Team Lead also assists with scheduling, performance evaluations, and enrollment goals, while modeling and enforcing safety standards. Training is provided for candidates without aquatic experience, including preparation to become a certified swim professional and safety expert. This is a part-time role with consistent shifts that include weekday afternoons or evenings and weekends. Additional hours may be available as the employee grows in the role. The position is physically active and involves being on your feet and in the water. The posting lists pay of $17.00–$21.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and certifications.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a passion for working with children.

- Be available for a consistent schedule that includes weekday afternoons or evenings and weekends.
- Be physically active and able to spend time on your feet and in the water.

Responsibilities
- Lead the team on deck and in the pool, supervising, supporting, and training hourly staff to ensure smooth class operations.
- Coach instructors and serve as a lead instructor, mentoring swim teachers to deliver safe, engaging, high-quality lessons.
- Observe and encourage student progress in the pool across age groups.
- Support families and help customers feel confident and cared for.
- Assist with scheduling, performance evaluations, and enrollment goals.
- Model and enforce safety standards for staff and students.
- Participate in weekly leadership meetings with site managers.
