About The Position

The role focuses on leadership and team motivation to ensure safety compliance and maintain quality standards in production. The candidate will demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting while training and developing crew members across various operations. Clear communication and coordination of team activities are essential for efficiency and continuous improvement. Additionally, the individual will lead daily GEMBA meetings and collaborate with maintenance to resolve equipment issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of all required training and assessments

  • Work instructions and LMS completed and up to date

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Lead/ Supervisor experience preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency on mainline and slitter areas
  • Previous manufacturing/distribution center/industrial experience preferred
  • Prior computer experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and lead crew by maintaining positive morale
  • Advanced operations and troubleshooting at the Mainline, Slitter, and Packaging
  • Observes all safety rules and always uses the proper safety equipment. Ensure the crew follow all safety rules and always use the proper safety equipment. Report any unsafe acts or conditions to Supervisor
  • Maintains quality standards for the product. Follows up on QW regularly throughout the shift, inspects work orders for accuracy and continuous improvement on daily packet scores. Resolves hold material for their shift
  • Keeps the machine and the surrounding area clean. Completes 6S corrections for assigned sector within allotted time frame
  • Follow instructions of the Production Manager, Process Engineer, Superintendent and PE tech
  • Train and develop crew to advance through pay for skills/performance in a timely manner. Keep up with crew training rotations between Mainline, Slitter and Packaging area
  • Coordinate all downs safely & effectively while remaining timely
  • Coordinate team member breaks throughout the shift
  • Work with Maintenance on resolving equipment issues
  • Take a proactive approach in all production aspects including raw materials
  • Ensure clear communication between oncoming and off going shifts. Document important items on the GEMBA boards
  • Provide guidance and structure to the team
  • Leads GEMBA daily
  • Review work instructions for accuracy and notify Production Manager if changes need to be made
  • Perform weekly safety talks
  • Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so
