About The Position

The Team Lead is responsible for supervision within an assigned department(s). The position provides leadership and guidance to other departmental associates, while maintaining sales and/or customer service. The Team Lead will assist the Department Manager directly with ensuring daily tasks such as pricing, merchandising, inventory control, housekeeping, etc are performed timely and efficiently. A professional position requiring a higher level of knowledge within their assigned department(s) and general knowledge of the building and home improvement industry. Requires personal skills such as communication, technical skills such as quoting and computer knowledge.

Requirements

  • Basic education which includes ability to competently read and write
  • Experience in selling/serving customers
  • Building materials knowledge
  • Limited typing and key punch skills
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • General knowledge of the building industry
  • Detailed knowledge of assigned department(s)

  • Technical skills such as quoting and computer knowledge
