About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a patient-focused and dynamic Full-Time Optometrist to join an affiliated independent optometry practice, located adjacent to a Warby Parker retail store. The Optometrist will practice under the clinical direction of the practice's supervising optometrist(s). The ideal candidate is a team player who delivers exceptional clinical care, builds strong patient relationships, and contributes to the practice's success. This role involves collaborating with the team to provide a best-in-class patient experience and grow the eye exam business. The position is ideal for someone passionate about accessible eye care and interested in a modern, innovative exam business.

Requirements

  • A Doctor of Optometry licensed in the state where you practice, in good standing.

  • Not on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE) and otherwise not excluded, debarred, precluded, or sanctioned by or from participation in any government health care program or commercial insurance plan.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality comprehensive eye exams and contact lens evaluations in line with established clinical protocols and standards of care.
  • Partner with the store team to create an exceptional patient experience and grow the eye exam business.
  • Prescribe eyewear, contacts, and eye health solutions tailored to each patient’s needs, and educate them on their options.
  • Diagnose and treat a variety of vision conditions, including refractive error and ocular health assessments.
  • Share eye care knowledge and coach the team to support patients.
  • Be a visible and engaged clinical presence, reinforcing the commitment to eye care, answering patient questions, supporting product recommendations, and ensuring a seamless patient experience.
  • Use modern digital exam lanes and EMR tools to streamline care.
  • Support key performance goals by delivering excellent clinical care.
  • Collaborate with the Store Leader to align on goals and strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patient examinations and treatments.
  • Maintain State Licensure in good standing and meet all Continuing Education/State requirements.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador by educating and inspiring patients and team members.
  • Take advantage of growth opportunities to expand skill set beyond the exam lane, including developing business acumen, mentorship, and advanced clinical training.
  • Perform other tasks as needed to provide an exceptional patient experience.
