Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in mining, mineral processing, engineering, adult education, trades, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of mining, processing, technical training, or operational leadership experience.
  • Experience leading training programs, teams, or workforce development initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of mill operations and processing plant systems.
  • Knowledge of competency-based training, adult learning principles, and verification of competency processes.
  • Experience with learning management systems and training compliance reporting.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Mill Training Advisors, Area Trainers, and contractor trainers.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve mill training and competency programs.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify capability gaps and workforce development opportunities.
  • Oversee onboarding, competency assessments, and verification of competency programs.
  • Ensure training compliance with site requirements, regulatory obligations, and operational standards.
  • Drive succession planning and workforce capability initiatives across Crushing, Grinding, Flotation, Dewatering, and Control Room Operations.
  • Monitor training performance, compliance reporting, and learning management systems.
