About The Position

The Team Lead, Solutions Consulting role is a hands-on player-coach, which includes being the primary Solution Consultant in opportunities, managing and hiring Solutions Consultants, and building out Braze’s financial services vertical in the Americas division. This role is an opportunity to expand on people management and leadership skills while partnering with Braze’s sales, marketing, security, and product teams. The role will draw upon experience in Pre-sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, or Customer Success, and hone people-management skills, all while demonstrating and practicing a high level of curiosity about all things tech. The individual will serve as a mentor to Solutions Consultants on their team. This role requires travel of up to 50% at peak times and is based in our [Office] office.

Requirements

  • People management experience, or a demonstrated track record of leading teams, mentoring ICs, and driving outcomes through others.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong executive presence and follow-through.
  • Strategic problem-solving ability to break down ambiguous, cross-functional challenges into clear options, tradeoffs, and next steps.
  • Comfort operating autonomously and proactively; ability to identify gaps and build necessary solutions.
  • Experience selling into enterprise accounts with sophisticated technical buying teams and rigorous evaluation processes, ideally in regulated industries.
  • Domain knowledge in two or more of the following: AI, SaaS, Mobile, APIs, Marketing Automation, Marketing Analytics, Data and Architecture, Security and Compliance, or Programming (including HTML).
  • Demonstrated ability to be a collaborative teammate and a force multiplier who raises the bar for those around you.

Responsibilities

  • Manage 2 Solutions Consultants to start, with potential for team growth as the FinServ business expands.
  • Coach direct reports through deal involvement, direct feedback, and regular career conversations.
  • Set the standard for technical and strategic excellence, as well as customer-facing performance.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex deals.
  • Collaborate with Sales and SC leadership on hiring and capacity planning.
  • Act as a player-coach, directly involved in opportunities.
  • Manage pre-sales activities end-to-end on major accounts, including discovery, solution design, demos, POVs, security reviews, and executive presentations.
  • Build credibility with the full FinServ buying team, including Architecture, Engineering, Security, Compliance, Marketing Ops, and the C-suite.
  • Position BrazeAI and advanced capabilities with buyers facing technical depth and regulatory complexity.
  • Coordinate with Product, Security, and Professional Services teams, as well as partners, to ensure successful deal closure.
  • Develop the Financial Services practice, which is a new territory for Braze, by creating sales plays, discovery frameworks, and competitive positioning.
  • Build reusable assets for the team, such as reference architectures, demo environments, security & compliance positioning, objection-handling guides, and talk tracks for banking, payments, insurance, and wealth management.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to define growth strategies for the FinServ segment.
  • Publish thought leadership content, including white papers, presentations, and blog posts, to establish Braze's industry credibility.
